![]() ![]() Looking back not only at his own much younger self, but also at the other writers who shared Paris with him - James Joyce, Wyndham Lewis, Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald - he recalls the time when, poor, happy, and writing in cafes, he discovered his vocation. ![]() Hemingway's memories of his life as an unknown writer living in Paris in the twenties are deeply personal, warmly affectionate, and full of wit. Overall the book and jacket are in very good condition. There are a couple of soiled marks to the rear panel and a little toning. There are a couple of tiny invisible closed tears and some minor creasing at the spine head. Unclipped dust wrapper with blue and white titles and attractively illustrated. A little toning to the fore edge but otherwise clean and unmarked. Dark blue boards with gilt titles to the spine. Originally published the previous year by Cape, this first issue by the Reprint Society was published the following year by arrangement. ![]()
